Get rid of jealousy in your relationship!
As we all know, every relationship has its ups and downs. While many challenges are dependent entirely on the relationship, there is one hurdle that spans all kinds of relationships across the world — jealousy. 73% of women admitted to feeling envious in their relationships according to one poll, and 27% of men also confirmed their jealousy. Jealousy rates also vary widely depending on which part of the world you ask.
Signs of jealousy.
Jealousy may be rampant, but some signs and symptoms of jealousy aren’t as cut and dry as others. Whether you’re worried that you may be an insecure partner or if you think that your own mate is the more suspicious partner, there are ways to determine whether or not you lean toward jealous tendencies. You may be experiencing jealousy if you:
- Feel tightness in your chest when your partner mentions other people;
- You have been tempted to go through your partner’s emails or phone;
- Experience anxiety while your partner spends time with their friends without you.
Examining jealousy’s damage.
While some might say that jealousy has its positives — as a sign of true and passionate love, for instance — the reality is that consistent feelings of intense jealousy can become dangerous. Is jealousy a sign of love? We would argue not. In fact, this severe form of insecurity can not only be unhealthy for the individuals involved, but it can become harmful enough to ruin relationships and drive partners away.
